New Blog Coming Really Soon, I Promise

Have a little more patience folks, and it will be here soon.  Until then, I will just say that my friend Wil wore a purple leather zipper tie to work the other day and it made me very, very happy.

mini, honey...with the exception of my very tall boyfriend.

i bought some very small oranges today.  key limes would be put to shame by the smallness of them.  they are adorable, and so tasty!  they are called "mini honeys".  it seems that my childhood fascination with all things miniature has translated seamlessly into my adult life.

i just wanted to tell you all that.  now i am going to do some crafting.

p.s. thanks to bri for photographing the orange on my equally adorable old-but-new chair!

excelling in randomness

tonight i made a huge mess and cleaned most of it up, and as a result i am on the verge of feeling elated.  nights spent at home filled with random things like putting up pictures, reorganizing closets, sorting through craft supplies, and phoning old friends are my favourite.  i don't mind doing tedious things, as long as i can see the purpose in them.  bri and i were talking, and both of us have the ability to spend months on end setting our own schedule without really getting bored.  when i was job searching after university, i filled my days with great things, and only once ended up turning on the tv.  so, because i enjoy being my own taskmaster and creating things, kaeli and i decided tonight that we are going to start writing down the random things that we like to make and do, so that someday we can lump them all together and make a wonderful something with them.  how's that for vague?  oh well, at least I know what i am talking about.

so this is the new year, and i don't feel any different

with the exception of some residual christmas cheer, i feel like i never left this desk at all.  i would venture to characterize this feeling as "negative". getting my head back in the game is proving to be difficult, and so instead i will muse on new years resolutions.

this year, i have resolved to spend more time at home.  i'm not sure how i am going to do this since i have no idea quite what it is that keeps me from home so much in the first place.  life happens i guess.  tonight was going to be a night in, but alas, a facebook invitation was sent out and i am free no more.  not that i resent it.  i like being busy.  i just don't think it's that healthy not to set aside down time for myself.

here is what home looks like for me, through the eyes of my roomate (and talented photographer) bri.

also, last year's resolution was a failure.  my yoga mat is only moderately worn out.  bummer.
